Every year, I take time to reflect on the lessons life has handed me. Some gently, others not so much. Last year, I shared 27 things I learned before turning 28, and the response reminded me just how connected we all are in our growing pains and personal victories. So here's to another year of becoming... 28 lessons from 28.

#1 - Healing isn't linear.

Some days you’ll feel whole and grounded, and the next day you might unexpectedly cry over something you thought you were past. That doesn’t mean you’ve regressed, it means you’re still healing. Be patient with yourself.

#2 - Boundaries are a form of self-love.

Setting limits doesn’t make you cold; it makes you wise. Knowing what you can and can’t handle protects your peace and helps you show up better for yourself and others.

#3 - Your worth isn't tied to productivity.

We live in a hustle culture, but being busy doesn’t mean you’re valuable. You’re worthy simply because you exist, not because of how much you do.

#4 - Friendships evolve.

Some friends are in your life for a season, and that’s okay. Others grow with you. Give grace to both.

#5 - Comparison steals joy.

Looking sideways only distracts you from your own blessings. Social media doesn’t show the full picture, so keep your eyes on your own path.

#6 - It's okay to outgrow places and people.

If something that once fit now feels tight or draining, that’s a sign of growth. Don’t shrink to stay comfortable.

#7 - Therapy is a strength, not a weakness.

Speaking to someone professionally can bring clarity, healing, and freedom. It takes courage to face yourself.

#8 - Celebrate small victories.

Big wins are great, but small steps forward deserve applause too. They add up to real progress.

#9 - Listening is as powerful as speaking.

Being heard is healing, and sometimes the best gift you can give someone is your undivided attention.

#10 - Your body is your home.

Nourish it, rest it, move it. Speak kindly to it. You only get one.

#11 - Gratitude shifts perspective.

Even on hard days, finding one thing to be thankful for can change your whole mood.

#12 - Mistakes are lessons in disguise.

Failure doesn’t define you, it teaches you. Lean into the lesson.

#13 - Authenticity attracts the right people.

The more real you are, the more aligned your circle becomes. Pretending drains you.

#14 - Time is a precious resource.

Be mindful of how and with whom you spend it. You can’t get it back.

#15 - Joy can be found in the mundane.

There’s beauty in slow mornings, favorite songs, quiet walks. Ordinary moments are extraordinary when you’re present.

#16 - Letting go is a form of freedom.

Release resentment, toxic relationships, old versions of yourself. Make room for what’s next.

#17 - Self-compassion is essential.

You speak grace over others. Don’t forget to speak it over yourself too. You’re doing the best you can.

#18 - Growth often comes from discomfort.

Change is rarely comfortable, but it’s usually necessary. Don’t fear the stretch.

#19 - Your voice matters.

Don’t dim your truth to keep others comfortable. What you have to say could be the light someone else needs.

#20 - Rest is productive.

Stillness restores you. A nap, a pause, a moment alone, it all counts.

#21 - You can't pour from an empty cup.

Serving others is beautiful, but not if it empties you. Fill yourself first.

#22 - Forgiveness is for you.

Carrying anger weighs you down. Forgive not to excuse them, but to free you.

#23 - Dreams evolve.

It’s okay if what you want now looks different than it did a year ago. You’re allowed to change.

#24 - Community is vital.

Life wasn’t meant to be done alone. Find your people and let them love you.

#25 - It's okay to ask for help.

Needing support isn’t a flaw; it’s human. Let someone be there for you.

#26 - Celebrate your uniqueness.

No one else can be you. That’s your power.

#27 - Life is a journey, not a destination.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Just keep walking.

#28 - You're exactly where you need to be.

Even when it doesn’t feel like it, trust that God’s timing is perfect. Nothing is wasted.

Here’s to stepping into 29 with softness, boldness, and trust. I don’t know what this next year holds, but I’m walking into it with open hands and a heart full of gratitude. Thank you for being part of my journey!
